In April 2004 after 12 years experience of working in the childcare sector, both in nurseries and as a nanny, and, after becoming a parent myself, I formed The Nanny Company to provide a personal level of service not offered by another agency.

After our first very enjoyable and successful 20 months we took over one of our main competitors, The Bridge Nanny Agency. This was a huge achievement for such a new agency to take over one that had been established for such a long time and we were and are still very proud to say that we incorporate “The Bridge” as part of our business.

We understand that leaving your children with someone outside of your family can be very daunting and as parents we understand how much you worry about your children when you are not with them! Therefore, we try to make the process as easy as possible for you, meeting you in person if you so wish, being open longer hours than any other agency so that you can get hold of us to answer that nagging question you may have, whether that be in the evening or at the weekend and generally giving you peace of mind whilst assisting you with the process of finding your perfect childcarer from beginning to end, right up to an after care service second to none.

We believe in getting to know both our parents and our nannies on a personal level, so that you will not be afraid to come to us with any questions that you may have. We are the only agency to offer a home consultation with our parents as part of our standard service. If you wish we will come out to your home to discuss your requirements personally, this enables us to get to know you and your family, and you to know us, see where you live and helps us to learn about the sort of nanny that will fit into your family best. We will only send you nannies that we believe match your needs, rather than everyone that we have on our books. We don’t believe that there is an “average” nanny job, rather that we are here to find a nanny tailored to your needs. If you are not happy with something that we suggest, or have suggestions to make to us, we will listen and take these on board, nobody knows your children as you do and we will be guided by yourselves wherever possible.

All of the nannies on our books are met by ourselves before we even consider putting them forward for work, will have had a CRB check in the past 3 years and have had their ID and references checked. We can get a new CRB processed for a nanny if this is out of date. Our general rule when meeting a new nanny is that if we would not be happy to leave her with our own children then we do not have them on our books, we feel there is no bigger guarantee we can give than this. We feel it is important we get to know our nannies as well as possible as it means we can put them forward for jobs they are truly suitable for.
